After reading your comments about the title, a bit of explanation: We named this piece "Patriot" after I told Chad that only Americans are patriots. I don't of such a word existing in Dutch. Which is not to say we Dutch (Europeans..) don't love our country, because we sure do! Not to start a whole political discussion here, but I feel that often the word "patriot" is used in a propagandic way, so for me it raises a bit of mixed feelings, if not straight up negative. Therefor the title is used with "..." and not meant in a serious way.
Yay to the description. The image itself... I gave up on trying to comment on the image itself. But thank you for stating your point in the description. 'Patriot' is the word 'coward' in disguise.
Patriot is NOT coward in discise. It is however USED by cowards who don't have the guts to debate a topic on its merits. For exsample "paying taxes" or "going to war" is NOT in and of themselfs Patriotic. Now the REASONS behind those two things maybe. For exsample, defending your country from a DIRECT attack(war), or funding a PURELY DEFENCIVE military(taxes). The big differance with Patriotism and Nationalism is one is Love the Ideals independant of Nation, the other is Love of Nation above all else...both however can be easliy miss used and lead to things like Xenophobia.
But thank you for stating your point in the description. 'Patriot' is the word 'coward' in disguise.
Got a rise out of my flag pole!
Sorry, extremely juvenile.
But, when I see your pics I tend to have visceral and very primal urges!
